Local creativity and inventiveness is reaching heights in PNG.

With the growth in our creative industries, in manufacturing and research institutions, as more of our students are graduating from polytech, universities and education institutions from PNG, we have been striving to develop the systems to protect their Intellectual Property everyday.

The situation is different from the 1960s and 70s with more local creativity, manufacturing activity, establishment of research institutions and universities, the emergence of more local artists and writers, recording studios, privately owned radio stations.

In the absence of an effective IP system, Papua New Guineans have not been able to protect their intellectual property and obtain maximum benefits from creativity and innovative activities. Therefore the great need to introduce and enact appropriate intellectual property laws has been existing for a long time.

This site provides information on IPOPNG’s activities, the services it provides to its clients, and the public and the links with related local and international organizations.
